Description: Niho-Taniwha The inspiration for this piece came from the shark tooth which has been traditionally worn by Maori as a pendant. In mythological terms, this design identifies the godly lineage of high chiefs. Niho Taniwha (demon's tooth) is the principal motif used in taniko weaving which is unique to Maori. The pattern is found on the hem of the chief's cloak. The
925 Chain is 18" long and can be shortened at the clip end.

label.
