Ann Gray     Painting, Gifts     A447             Ann studied art & design, before specializing in Fashion Design at the University of Northumberland in England. She moved to Switzerland in 1981 where she developed her own successful designer label. Seeking greater creative stimulation she also diversified into costume design. Ann travelled extensively over the next decade and incorporated the experiences and knowledge she gained into her artistic pursuits. Since immigrating to New Zealand in 1994 Ann has consistently exhibited her paintings as well as teaching at AUT, designing and creating costumes for ballet productions and published a book on beadwork. Ann currently works as a freelance artist and fabric designer, her environmental themes sending strong sustainable messages to the viewer. Her paintings capture the essence of New Zealand and are found in collections around the world.
