Keith Mahy introduces himself as follows:
"I've always been interested in art. For as long as I can remember I've been drawing, painting and making things. The pursuit of this passion took me first to Auckland University's Elam School of Fine Arts where I specialised in Sculpture and 3D design.
Because handworking glass has always fascinated me I eventually moved from industry to pursue working with this magic molten material with its brilliance of colour, transparency and fluidity.
The material is not easy to work with as it requires coordination, quickness of mind, determination, perseverence and skill. Major influences on my work are the physical properties of the material itself and the way it moves as wells as forms from nature."
