New Zealand paintings capture the unique colours, ambience and spirit of New Zealand. The paintings in our KiwiArtz gallery are the work of both New Zealand born and overseas painters, who have come to call New Zealand home. All the paintings in the gallery are available to buy and include New Zealand landscape paintings and paintings in abstract, realist and expressionist styles using mediums such as oil, watercolour, acrylic, pastel and mixed media.

The NZ painters featured include:

Brent Wong whose paintings have been exhibited successfully over the years at galleries in New Zealand and abroad. His works are to be found in a wide range of public and private collections and his work features in an extensive number of articles and books.

Mark Cross who is considered one of the South Pacific's leading contemporary realist painters. Based mainly in the central Polynesian island of Niue, his works are sought after by collectors from the Pacific rim and further afield. Employing landscapes, often with people in them, his works are well known for imparting a social message that speaks of mankind's delinquent abuse of his home the Earth. They speak of the world but are intrinsically Pacific. Mark Cross exhibits regularly in New Zealand, Hawaii and Rarotonga.

Ruth Cole
who has won numerous awards for her paintings and has exhibited widely. While she initially painted in an expressionist style she now describes her work as 'painterly realism'.

Keiko Pogoni who grew up in Japan but now lives in a coastal community an hour north of Auckland. She enjoys bright colours and clean images in landscapes. She uses these to capture with dramatic clarity and brilliance the imagery of the Pacific.

Ann Gray whose themes are drawn from nature around her, capturing in detail Aotearoa's flora, fauna and scenery or on the wide expanse of the ocean.

Janet Bothner-by who trained under many of New Zealand's leading artists and has exhibited in many galleries throughout the country. Many of her paintings are on hire and in corporate and private collections in New Zealand and overseas. In 1985 she was awarded the Bledisloe Landscape Medal.. She seeks to capture the essence of the breathtaking beauty and unspoiled nature of the country.

Deirdre Thorsen-Lavery whose contemporary abstract paintings have won major awards and are in private and public collections in New Zealand and overseas.

Paula Novak, a visionary artist, as adept at creating stunning photo-realistic portraits as she is at detailed depictions of native flowers or heart stopping original and deeply symbolic fantasy works.

Andrew Trevelyan is a New Zealand and United Kingdom trained watercolour artist who lives in Auckland. His watercolors capture beautifully the Auckland landscape.

Hugh Brading has been a professional artist since 1993 and has gained recognition for his beautiful watercolour and oil paintings. His popular subjects, which are bold and colourful florals from his garden and local land and seascapes, have sold world wide. He has exhibited throughout New Zealand and in England.

Karen Pattie who has successfully exhibited her contemporary abstract artworks for the past six years, in and around Auckland..

Lynne Sinclair Taylor, an accomplished artist who has a wide range of styles in her repertoire and whose paintings can be found in homes and businesses worldwide. She paints in acrylics, oils and pastels and uses color vibrantly.

Jos Coufreur was born in 1959 in Holland, and studied art at the Royal Academy of Art in Den Bosch. He and his wife immigrated to New Zealand in 1987 and now have four children. Jos has specialised in painting animals for about the last 10 years. Horses, especially those in full action racing scenes, are his specialty although he also paints dogs, cats and other pet portraits, flowers and children on beaches. As a largely self taught artist he has developed his own impressionistic textured technique. However, for animal portraits he uses a traditional realist style.
His work has been sold widely throughout New Zealand. He has also been the recipient of the KG Fraser Award 2004 and 1st professional oil section Royal Easter Show, Auckland.

Nick Fedaeff is a modern artist who works with different media. His style varies with mood and subject. His paintings are dynamic and vibrant and show his diverse artistic potential. He uses mainly oil paint on canvas, but also practices with acrylic and aqua paints. Nick says he discovered a drawing talent when he was a kid and was later taught professionally by some famous Russian artists. His paintings reflect different vibrations of life and are made with different styles by using various techniques. From Abstract and Russian Avant-guard to Expressionism and Minimalism.
